Of the top 5 most posted jobs Site Engineers (£69k) and Mechanical Design Engineers (£49k) are still commanding the highest salaries - both showing salary increases. Across all the posting volumes we can see a decrease over the last 3 months, a market reaction to hiring activity levels. Apart from senior sub-disciplies of Directing and Management, Project Management £64k (average salary up c£5k) and Aerospace £56k (average salary up c£4k) are over the £55k mark.

Of the 113,975 IT candidates on Totaljobs active within the past 6 months 56% are in London and South East, with 11% in the North West. Of the top most posted jobs Data Engineers (£72k) are earning more than Software Engineers (£63k) while Senior Software Engineers earn the most (£77k). The last 3 months have seen job posting volumes decreases across the board by over a third in most cases. Sub-discipline average salaries have shot up by tens-of-thousands across Architecting, SAP, Software Development, Project Management, Database and Busines Analysis - all now over £70k.

Of the top most posted jobs, Data Scientists have the highest average salary at £69k, followed by Technical Managers at £60k with all other jobs except Research Assistants posting higher average salaries. Sub-disciplines of Data Science, Technology and Consulting are now posting average salaries over £50k with Biology rising to a £47k average across the last 6 month from being £38k in Oct 24 - Mar 25.

Of the top 3 most posted jobs, we're seeing increased average salaries of up to c£4k, less than the average increases other sectors are posting. Sub-disciplines of Project Management, Reporting, Directing, Merger & Aquisition are all over £65k. Interestingly, in the last 6 months Treasury roles increased their average +£18k since Oct 24 - March 25 denoting a focus on hiring financial risk skill sets.
